| The entire day was exquisite, and you can check back next week to see more images, but for now, here’s one of getting ready taken at the Hyatt Regency: (don’t forget to comment if you like it) |

Hello! My name is Sandra Yu. Welcome to my blog. I am a photographer specializing in weddings and lifestyle portraits. This blog is home for my most recent work and thoughts & reflections about my life's adventures and perspectives. I hope to share some of these experiences with you here.
Feel free to look around and contact me if you have any questions. I'd love to chat with you about your photography needs via email, on the phone or even in person over a cup of tea. Have a lovely day!
Here’s some of my favorite pictures from the Photo Station we did yesterday at the wedding. If you were at Lindsey and Ben’s wedding, here is the link to see all of the pictures. To prepare for the Photo Station, I collected hats, feather boas, and other accessories for people to dress up in. Also, instead of a standard black or white backdrop, I opted for a damask design to add more interests.
I love seeing all of the pictures at the end and how creative some people get. It’s so great that a bride and groom can use this as their favor.

Special thanks to Val Ritter for helping me! Please visit her site. She’s very cool and talented.

Some say love is a temporary madness, and when it struck Lindsey one day at her apartment’s pool party, there was nothing she can do but let herself be swept by it. Her feet undoubtedly led her to Ben, and soon enough they were having a great conversation – where else but by the pool!
It was an adorable story, and while Ben was telling me this, I couldn’t help but see how much he loves her. Clearly, the madness has struck him, too. Lindsey said she heard about Ben through a friend, and when she saw him, she knew that he was the one. I love Lindsey’s warmth and openness, as well as Ben’s steady nature. They’re a perfect fit. He’s her rock while she’s the light of his life. Yes, love is madness, isn’t it?! But hardly temporary! This is one for a long haul. I look forward to their beautiful wedding at University of Tampa in less than two weeks.

The engagement session started at their house, and it was so fun just listening to them talk while I take their photos. Lindsey has a bubbly personality, and I couldn’t help but laugh at the thought of her hitting on Ben, who was cute as he was shy. They dated for two years before they got engaged, and Ben, being a true gentleman, asked Lindsey’s parents for hand before he proposed. At the mention of this, Lindsey turned to him, surprised. “I had no clue!” she exclaimed, love and joy in her eyes. Ben, a true southern boy from Alabama, indeed talked to her parents when they went to Maryland to visit. He proposed to her on a mountain top – oh, it was so romantic, I wanted to swoon.

They have two dogs, Ducky and Maple, and three cats, Rasta, Jones and Hagen. They all make such a lovely family. Here’s little Jones chilling and watching us taking photos.

I love the bed shot below. I was told that Ben probably wouldn’t go for that idea but I suggested it anyways. He was ALL-IN! Jumped in and all giggles! So nice to be trusted by the groom. =)

Lindsey works for the Department of Transportation. This was totally Ben’s idea. CUTE!!

Lindsey went to University of Miami. Of course, we had to include their mascot in a photo. Love that smile on Sebastian blocking their lips. So misbehave!

Following that lovely day at the beach, I couldn’t wait to be at Sarah and Josh’s wedding. It was a gorgeous wedding. Oh, it was like a dream.

Some of my favorite moments while both the bride and groom were getting ready:

Sarah’s wedding dress is beautiful. And oh, the ringbearers are cute Labradors who walked down the aisle! How cute can you get? Sarah and Josh also wrote their own vows – something that I always found to be the greatest thing at a wedding. Written vows are intimate, earnest, and to some extent – holy. These are words from hearts laid bare, and we are ever so lucky to witness this, really. Josh was teary-eyed throughout.

Sarah planned and designed the whole wedding all by herself – a lovely feat for this creative lady! The color motif of black, white and green was also a big hit. The apple green was like springtime, and it brought so much life to the elegance that was already the whole wedding. There were two moments that touched me: One, when I was taking photographs of Sarah and her parents, I heard them say to each other, “We made a beautiful daughter together.” I thought that was very sweet.

Two, when Sarah’s sister came up to me and said that she appreciates how I care about the entire family, as I make sure that they all have their photos taken. I was really touched. Whenever I photograph weddings, I always remember that the event is just as significant to each one as it is for the bride and groom. I know that it is important for each one to have their own memory of what happened, so that they would have something to remember for themselves.

I had a lovely time. I love that in the future we all can look back on this day and say, I was part of this wedding, I was part of something good and beautiful and true.

These are great, Sandra! And the story is a nice touch! Looking forward to seeing more!
The pics…a lot of creative shots…great job! love the one with feet in bed, and a cat
The second picture and the Iphone one are my favorites, can’t wait to see more.
