The man in the photo says, “She is in love.” Nino Quincampoix, collector extraordinaire, exclaims in exasperation, “I don’t even know her!” But the man in the photo is wise. He smiles with all the wisdom of the world: “Oh, you know her.” Bewildered, Nino asks, “Since when?” And the answer — says the man in the photo: “Since always. In your dreams.”

When I met Rachelle and Daniel, I couldn’t stop thinking about this scene in Amelie. It’s one of my favorite films. If you talk to me about France, and French movies, ah, prepare to hear me sigh, and sigh again. Amelie is one of the most romantic stories ever, and Rachelle and Dan are one of the most romantic couples I’ve ever met. They were at Disney to celebrate Rachelle’s birthday but it turned out to be more than just that.

The lovely couple:

While they were at Epcot, they decided to walk by the France section of the World Showcase. There, with the Eiffel tower creating a fantastic background and setting the mood, Dan proposed to a very surprised Rachelle. It was the stuff made of dreams. And we sought to recreate the moment for their engagement session, which just melted all my bones!

Dan, the romantic:

And Rachelle, who can’t help but tear up all over again:

I am filled with joy whenever I see these two:

And you know what I’ve noticed? Time seems to stop for the two of them with just one look:

And they always seem to make each other smile, it’s adorable:

Rachelle and Dan have been together a long time. Eight years! Simply amazing.

True love does exists, says an old man at the Two Windmills bar, where Amelie works. And I can’t tell all of you how extraordinary it is to be a witness to such a thing. When Dan proposed to Rachelle, she asked him, “Are you for real?” Oh yes. Everything between the two of you is so real and genuine, my dear.

I love park weddings. They always seem so ethereal. A subtle gust of wind, or the sun peeking through the clouds – I’ve often felt that we are being blessed right then, that nature and the other worldly forces at work are smiling down on us who are there to witness a very special occasion. This Saturday was one of those days when I felt so full of warmth and love, it’s a wonder I didn’t burst! And who wouldn’t, with an adorable couple like Sarah and Travis?

I was invited to shoot this wedding by Justin. The ceremony was held in North Straub Park here in St. Pete, Florida. It was around five-ish in the afternoon, quite a hot sunny day – but no one was hotter than the bride and groom!

Also had to get a shot of Sarah’s lovely bridesmaids, and their sexy shoes!

Sarah’s beautiful bouquet, perfect for the bright and sunny day (provided by her neighbor, Bev Edins):

Sarah and Travis are very down to earth, and it was reflected in how the whole wedding was prepared. The designs and overall look at the park was uncomplicated and effortless, but totally elegant and genuine.

It just felt so real – two people professing their love for each other, with friends and family celebrating their joining. It was a small but intimate wedding. It was so romantic – the park is next to a small marina, so we had some ocean breeze, too. Their friend RJ was the officiant and before you know it, everybody was cheering and clapping for the newlyweds!

The reception was held at a place called State Theatre. It’s a small old charming theatre which in recent years, has become a very hip venue for rock concerts. It has a vintage rock theme, just perfect for Sarah and Travis. Naturally, everybody had a good time! Great music was provided by DJ Lee of Tampa Bay Dream Team, and the delicious food was catered by Harvey’s 4th Street Grill in St Pete.

Here’s a close-up of the newlywed’s rings. How cool is this?

If you want to know more about how their story came about, Sarah made a website narrating their journey here.

Thanks Sarah and Travis for letting me be part of your special day!
