Some say love is a temporary madness, and when it struck Lindsey one day at her apartment’s pool party, there was nothing she can do but let herself be swept by it. Her feet undoubtedly led her to Ben, and soon enough they were having a great conversation – where else but by the pool!

It was an adorable story, and while Ben was telling me this, I couldn’t help but see how much he loves her. Clearly, the madness has struck him, too. Lindsey said she heard about Ben through a friend, and when she saw him, she knew that he was the one. I love Lindsey’s warmth and openness, as well as Ben’s steady nature. They’re a perfect fit. He’s her rock while she’s the light of his life. Yes, love is madness, isn’t it?! But hardly temporary! This is one for a long haul. I look forward to their beautiful wedding at University of Tampa in less than two weeks.

The engagement session started at their house, and it was so fun just listening to them talk while I take their photos. Lindsey has a bubbly personality, and I couldn’t help but laugh at the thought of her hitting on Ben, who was cute as he was shy. They dated for two years before they got engaged, and Ben, being a true gentleman, asked Lindsey’s parents for hand before he proposed. At the mention of this, Lindsey turned to him, surprised. “I had no clue!” she exclaimed, love and joy in her eyes. Ben, a true southern boy from Alabama, indeed talked to her parents when they went to Maryland to visit. He proposed to her on a mountain top – oh, it was so romantic, I wanted to swoon.

They have two dogs, Ducky and Maple, and three cats, Rasta, Jones and Hagen. They all make such a lovely family. Here’s little Jones chilling and watching us taking photos.

I love the bed shot below. I was told that Ben probably wouldn’t go for that idea but I suggested it anyways. He was ALL-IN! Jumped in and all giggles! So nice to be trusted by the groom. =)

Lindsey went to University of Miami. Of course, we had to include their mascot in a photo. Love that smile on Sebastian blocking their lips. So misbehave!

When I went to photograph Hope, Arthur and their little darling Raimah about a month ago, I met a wonderful family filled with anticipation. They were ecstatic to see the new love of their lives, and you just know it’s going to be a great day when the time comes.

And indeed it was: the mere mention of Josiah lights up everybody’s faces, and I cannot express how amazing it was to be there photographing him already, just nineteen days after he was born. He was so delicate, and his parents and his big sister are so full of joy and love. They’re beautiful people – Hope, Arthur, Raimah, and now, Josiah – and I loved being there to capture the moment.

I observed that Raimah is growing up so fast and that she’s got mommy’s look. The little one, Josiah, has daddy’s look. Arthur said, “Well, they all start like that and then they eventually take Mommy’s beauty.”  So sweet!

I also noticed that Josiah’s birthday was very timely – Hope celebrated hers last February 5th, and the baby was born on February 2nd – talk about receiving the greatest gift yet! To Hope and Arthur, and their two darling angels, I wish you much happiness.

Josiah was born on February 2nd, weighing 7 lbs and 4 oz. Just 19 days old, he did so well during his session that I just had to post a teaser for mom and dad.
