Lil’ Monkey

Yesterday, I did a family portrait. I haven’t done this for awhile so I was a bit excited. I love taking family portraits – I just get caught in the infectious love that the parents have for their children and vice versa, so it’s always a fun feeling to take away after each session.
After a typical Florida thunderstorm (we need it too), the lovely sun came out behind white clouds and ushered me outside to finally do the shoot! Happy and feeling more than blessed, I blew a kiss to the sky and off I went to meet with Michelle.
Michelle is a wonderful person whom I’ve met through a local meet-up group recently. She saw one of my works, a child portrait session that I did last March, which I brought with me that day. She liked my shots, and said that she wanted me to take photos of her son who’s turning a year old this June. Yes, of course! So, here we were, one gorgeous afternoon, where I met her hubby Joe and her adorable little Chance for the first time.
Chance is so adorable! Michelle and Joe fondly call him “Monkey”, which makes me giggle. He’s a very active, all-around happy kid, and I had a grand time taking their photos. Michelle wanted to use them for birthday invitations, which is a great idea (I’m always curious where my clients use their photos)! So I made sure to prompt and encourage a lot of fun moments from the family, which they will be proud to show off to their loved ones.
More photos I’m particularly enamored with:

Can you believe we used cereals to trick duckies to join our photo shoot?
I really enjoyed this session and was a bit disappointed when it had to end. I could take photos of Chance forever. He’s still little; he walks and falls but picks himself right up again. It’s amazing. Michelle told me that Chance is usually very camera shy but he was quite at ease with me. And here I thought he’s like that all the time! I felt pretty honored, to tell you the truth
The photos are taken at their residence. I went there their house was beautiful, but the view outside was stunning, too. So we posed at both locations. I’ll post the outdoor and indoor photos at my website soon, so tune in for that!

Thanks Michelle, Joe and Chance (aka Monkey) for letting me spend the afternoon with you
