Waiting On An Angel

One of the things that I love about my job is getting inspired by both the setting and the person I am photographing – it’s always an opportunity for me to discover something new and connect with the environment and the people in a more emotional level. With this shoot, I was really inspired by the stories from Angela.

Angela, a senior studying medicine at USF, accompanied by her younger sister, Kevina, met up with me at Channelside.  Angela is expecting in early September. She said, “It’s going to be a baby girl and I’m naming her: Mikayla Antoinette.”  Mikayla means “a gift from God,” while Antoinette means “flourishing, praiseworthy”.  Oh, that baby girl is going to be one sweet angel once she arrives!

We walked and talked and found spots here and there, while my mind was churning ideas. The place was teeming with tourist activities. It was a blazing hot and humid day but that did not damper our spirits!

Here’s to a wonderful life ahead with your child, Angela, and to your dreams and future plans. I can’t wait to photograph Mikayla in a few months. Cheers!
